Intelligent Alerting Beyond Nagios and Health Checks Solution Brief

Open-source tools like Nagios initially gained acceptance as a scalable tool focused on ascertaining up/down of individual nodes. It matched the basic remote health check capabilities of legacy tools, and infrastructure teams could be notified as soon as there was an issue. However, despite cloud environments growing more dynamic, alerting strategies remained pretty much the same: alerts fired when a single component failed to pass its health check.

Intelligent alerts require an aggregated and analytical view of all metrics and automatic configuration for an elastic environment.
