To achieve its mission of connecting people with great local businesses, Yelp has thousands of systems spread across the globe, hosted in both private data centers and AWS, running a core monolithic application and a growing amount of microservices. It has hundreds of engineers spread across multiple parts of the business with each team monitoring their own services and a dedicated operations team scaling infrastructure, building platforms, and providing tooling.

SignalFx provided a solution that could scale to handle Yelp’s massive volume of metrics, delivering real-time analytics and advanced alerting capabilities on this data to quickly find and resolve problems. SignalFx has:
